Coinciding with the 200th year anniversary of the British Parliamentary Act abolishing the slave trade, the organising committee including Glasgow ANSAR will mark this historical anniversary by holding "The All Nations Cup Festival". This will give children as well as adults the opportunity to explore what Integration means today, as well as its importance for the future of Scotland and our wider world.

The All Nations Cup Festival, a World Cup-style football tournament celebrating its second year in Glasgow, has decided this year to include a cultural festival in conjunction with its competition. Afroscots United, Glasgow Ansar, Cameroonian Association, Greater Pollok Integration Network, Universal FC & The African & Caribbean Network have organised several additions to the festival that will make the show off the field a great attraction for families.

The Opening day of The All Nations Cup festival, August 4th will start off with a line-up of women in their traditional wear from Cameroon, China, Jamaica, Kurdistan, Pakistan, Scotland leading out the teams in an opening ceremony.

A great line-up of local musicians, dancers and performers follows the opening act throughout the Qualifiers Weekend festival. Hip-hop dance, football competitions, and Chinese Lion dancing are just a sampling from the cultural performance schedule (see below). Many performances will encourage audience participation and all are family friendly.

Also don’t miss the opening of The All Nations Cup Festival's first ever stalls exhibiting African, Caribbean & Asian attire, art, music, books, literature of their cultural heritage.

Organisations under the African & Caribbean Network will host an international film festival at the tournament as well this year

Many guests will be attending the event including representatives from Celtic, Rangers, Partick Thistle, Clyde and Queens Park.
