| Active Futures - Great Outdoors project |
Glasgow ANSAR are partners in Glasgow City Councils Great Outdoors project funded from Active Futures.
The project involves various outdoor activities for 17 – 24 year olds such as Climbing, canoeing, abseiling, white water rafting, kayaking as well as many more. 16 Participants can take part in every session. This project is aimed at the age group from the BME Community that has traditionally been missed when it comes to outdoor pursuits. It also opens opportunities to individuals helping them to become leaders in outdoor activities and following that as a career path.
Programme 06/07
Block 1 Sat 4th Nov 2006 to Sat 9th Dec 2006 (Saturdays only) Each session is from 2pm-5pm (1pm pick-up) Snow boarding (3 weeks), skiing (3 weeks)
Block 2 Sat 13th Jan 2007 to Sat 17th Feb 2007 (Saturdays only) Each session is from 2pm-5pm (1pm pick-up) Snow boarding (3 weeks), skiing (3 weeks)
Participants from both blocks will be elligable to take part in a 3 day residential, on real snow in March 2007
